About Me

Hi, I’m Lazy Cat.

If you’re looking for a blog that only reviews “smart” books and uses big words to impress you, you’re probably in the wrong place.

But, if you’re the kind of reader who falls in love with fictional characters, gets genuinely angry at cliffhangers, and sometimes buys a book just because the cover was pretty—welcome home.

I started Lazy Cat Book Club because I wanted a space to talk about books the way I talk to my friends: honestly, passionately, and with zero pretension.

Why “Lazy Cat”?

People think cats are lazy, but if you’ve ever owned one, you know the truth: they aren’t lazy; they are selective.

That’s my philosophy on reading. In a world of “Productivity Hacks” and “Read 100 Books a Year” challenges, I believe in slowing down. I don’t read to hit a quota. I read to find those rare, specific stories that make the rest of the world disappear.

Whether it’s a sprawling medieval fantasy or a quiet Spanish novel, I’m here for the deep dive.

The “Weird” Friend Advantage

I’m a bilingual reader (Latina), which means my bookshelf is effectively double the size of the average reader’s.

I read in Spanish not just because it’s my heritage, but because some stories lose their soul in translation. My goal is to be the bridge between these two worlds. I want to introduce you to Spanish-speaking authors who are writing things that will blow your mind—and if you don’t read Spanish, don’t worry. I’ll help you find the best translations.

Meet The Manager

I might write the reviews, but we all know who is really in charge.

Meet Nina. She is a long-haired calico with a very specific set of opinions. She believes that every open book is actually a bed, and that 3 AM is the perfect time to discuss plot twists.

About Me

What You Can Expect Here

  • Honest Reviews: If I loved a book, I’ll scream about it. If I didn’t, I’ll tell you exactly why (kindly, but honestly).
  • Zero Pretension: We read for fun here. Fanfiction, graphic novels, and romance are treated with the same respect as the classics.
  • The “Completionist” Curse: I have a stubborn refusal to DNF books. It’s a flaw, I know. But it means that when I review a book, you know I’ve seen it through to the bitter end.

Ready to get started?

Grab a cup of coffee (or tea, I don’t judge) and take a look around.

Thanks for stopping by. I’m glad you’re here.
